The Chuo Line is not long, at 225km, so I think it is rather short. The long route is over 900km. It is an important route used by locals heading to Nagoya and businessmen heading to Matsumoto, as seen in this video. Due to the series of curves and hills, extreme caution is required when driving, and the vehicle is unique in that it is equipped with a device that tilts the vehicle approximately 2 degrees when it approaches a curve, allowing it to run without slowing down too much. It's called a pendulum vehicle. It was developed about 40 years ago, and at first it had an uncomfortable ride, but now it's so comfortable that you don't even notice it unless you ask.
